ABSTRACT. The growing problem of chemotherapeutic resistance has revived interest in the potential use of bacteriophages in specific therapy of bacterial diseases in fish. In the present study, we determined the influence of specific product Bafador-1 (concentrations of bacteriophages 1x108 PFU/ml) used in immersion (1 h) on the haematological and biochemical parameters in carp (Cyprinus carpio). The blood were separated from caudal vein before and 1, 2 and 3 days after immersion. The results showed that Bafador-1 do not change levels of red blood cells, haematocrit and haemoglobin in blood. The similar pattern were observed in biochemical parameters. After application of Bafador-1 no statistically significant difference in AST and ALT activity were observed. Also the levels of glucose and cortisol were similar, compared to control group. The results of this study showed, that Bafador-1 has not negative influence on haematological and biochemical parameters in carp.
